In your own words, define Internet of Things
Internet of Things is the connection between different kinds of media, devices and objects and how they could develop and interact with the uses and features of one another including the exchange of data.
What brought this theory about?
The concept of a network of smart devices was discussed as early as 1982, with a modified Coke machine at Carnegie Mellon University becoming the first Internet-connected appliance, able to report its inventory and whether newly loaded drinks were cold.
Do you like the concept of IoT? Why or why not?
In my opinion, the holistic view on devices is a good concept. IoT allows the development of devices and media to flourish. It will allow them to improve for the convenience of every one. It also shows how technology adapts through time. But I think, to generalize all devices to be capable and part of this must be considered and studied first. Furthermore, the independency of each device and media should be retained so that their functions will not be affected by any glitch or error that occurs in one part of the system.
In what situations do you encounter IoT in the Philippines?
I have encountered them on banking systems and ATM machines. The services of banks could be put into the internet for the convenience of people. Transactions, deposits and withdrawals can be monitored.
How do you think IoT will evolve and affect Filipino Society in the next 3 to 5 years?
I think that Filipinos will depend heavily on the web. The industrial demands will continue to increase to cope with the advanced changes in society.
What do you think is the relationship / cause and effect of IoT in Media and Information Literacy?

IoT allows more understanding of the connectivity of devices and evolving media. It bridges knowledge on different devices and media forms. IoT is also a reminder that media and information are intricately connected that proper handling must be observed.

I learned things no one taught me. She made the path that led me to my beliefs today. How : She provided us readings, gave requirements that exposed me to the different problems around us. A question was given to us and we were tasked to construct a table for it. "According to the weather forecast, there is  no typhoon.  However, your locality is experiencing heavy rainfall, while some parts in your province / region are already flooded. There are reported incidents of landslide, evacuation, stranded vehicles and drowning. As a student, what are you going to do?"  This is my answer STAGES/ELEMENTS ANSWERS ...

Information Literacy (Laboratory)

Source: Iconfinder KNOWLEDGE IS POWER Knowledge is power Knowledge is the key to survival, but apart from that, knowledge enables us to transcend from our initial state into a better one. Knowledge paved the way for the evolution of society. Information becomes knowledge in what way? Information is objective while knowledge is subjective. When a person is able to absorb, retain, and apply the information he received, that information becomes knowledge. This relationship could be compared to a raw agricultural product, which represents information, being processed into preserved food, which represents knowledge. The topic about Importance of Giving Credit was discussed and here are my opinions on it. Giving credit is a personal responsibility carried by everyone. It comes along with the privilege of creating something to call as your own. With privilege, comes responsibility. Giving credit is simply treating others the way you want to be treated. I guess no one w...
