It was our first day in this subject. I had no idea of what our lessons would be, and I was glad that our teacher, Mr. Rodel Opiana, provided us an activity to introduce us to Media and information Literacy. My work can be seen in the table above.
Some additional questions were also given:
Which media providers did you spend the most time?
-          Television

What roles does media play in your life?
-          Entertainment, Communication, Learning, Information
Define Information Literacy
-          Information Literacy is the ability developed in humans to receive, process, and provide right information to and from others.

I really admit that T.V. is my thing. It is my family’s way of bonding. From the time we wake up to the minute before we sleep, our eyes would feast on our favorite shows. The minutes we spend on the television set increased this week because my father bought a new one, and I guess we were really thrilled about the fact that our T.V. is now flat-screen.
Media’s role in my life is really crucial. Like what I’ve said, it’s with me from my rising hour to my sleeping time.
In the end our teacher gave us a homework
INTRO 1
In your opinion, what makes an individual literate in media and information?
Media and Information Literacy is observed in an individual if he or she has the capability to use different media with ease and responsibility. He or she must be able to identify how to properly use the media without disruption or his or her engagement with media continuously develops without inhibition. Handling of information must also be taken with responsibility and must be properly disseminated and be effectively communicated.
What activities/habits do you practice which illustrate media and information literacy? Give at least three examples.
-           Develop basic information in media and information applications into more profound ones such as using basic powerpoint presentations to create videos.
-           Proper creation of news websites and posting factual news while following ethics and rules in journalism
-           Not using social media to propagate negative things about others
-           Learning how to use the web without harming other users

-           Knowing the functions of buttons in the new SMART TV

Indigenous Media (Mind Map)

Today, Mr. Opiana discussed the indigenous media . He asked us to create a concept map about it. Here is my concept map:

Information Literacy (Lecture-Most Influential Person)

Source: https://thenounproject.com/term/influence/474158/ THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN MY LIFE Who : Abby Pariente What (is her role) : Journalism Teacher; School Paper Adviser Where (did we meet) : Manila Science High School When (did we meet) : 2015 Why : She was able to open my eyes to the reality of society. I learned things no one taught me. She made the path that led me to my beliefs today. How : She provided us readings, gave requirements that exposed me to the different problems around us. A question was given to us and we were tasked to construct a table for it. "According to the weather forecast, there is  no typhoon.  However, your locality is experiencing heavy rainfall, while some parts in your province / region are already flooded. There are reported incidents of landslide, evacuation, stranded vehicles and drowning. As a student, what are you going to do?"  This is my answer STAGES/ELEMENTS ANSWERS Informatio

Knowledge paved the way for the evolution of society. Information becomes knowledge in what way? Information is objective while knowledge is subjective. When a person is able to absorb, retain, and apply the information he received, that information becomes knowledge. This relationship could be compared to a raw agricultural product, which represents information, being processed into preserved food, which represents knowledge. The topic about Importance of Giving Credit was discussed and here are my opinions on it. Giving credit is a personal responsibility carried by everyone. It comes along with the privilege of creating something to call as your own. With privilege, comes responsibility. Giving credit is simply treating others the way you want to be treated. I guess no one w
