Information Literacy (Laboratory)

Source: Iconfinder KNOWLEDGE IS POWER Knowledge is power Knowledge is the key to survival, but apart from that, knowledge enables us to transcend from our initial state into a better one. Knowledge paved the way for the evolution of society. Information becomes knowledge in what way? Information is objective while knowledge is subjective. When a person is able to absorb, retain, and apply the information he received, that information becomes knowledge. This relationship could be compared to a raw agricultural product, which represents information, being processed into preserved food, which represents knowledge. The topic about Importance of Giving Credit was discussed and here are my opinions on it. Giving credit is a personal responsibility carried by everyone. It comes along with the privilege of creating something to call as your own. With privilege, comes responsibility. Giving credit is simply treating others the way you want to be treated. I guess no one w...

A question was given to us and we were tasked to construct a table for it. "According to the weather forecast, there is  no typhoon.  However, your locality is experiencing heavy rainfall, while some parts in your province / region are already flooded. There are reported incidents of landslide, evacuation, stranded vehicles and drowning. As a student, what are you going to do?"  This is my answer STAGES/ELEMENTS ANSWERS ...

Internet of Things

Source: https://cio.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/internet-of-things/working-on-internet-of-things-platform-tata-teleservices/52757209 In your own words, define Internet of Things Internet of Things is the connection between different kinds of media, devices and objects and how they could develop and interact with the uses and features of one another including the exchange of data. What brought this theory about? The concept of a network of smart devices was discussed as early as 1982, with a modified Coke machine at Carnegie Mellon University becoming the first Internet-connected appliance, able to report its inventory and whether newly loaded drinks were cold. Do you like the concept of IoT? Why or why not? In my opinion, the holistic view on devices is a good concept. IoT allows the development of devices and media to flourish. It will allow them to improve for the convenience of every one. It also shows how technology adapts through time. But I think, to gene...

Evolution of Media

Mr. Rodel Opiana discussed, on the fourth day, the Evolution of Media, from the Pre-industrial Age to the present. It is amazing to see the evolution transcend from manual printing to the digital era we have today. After our lesson, Mr. Opiana gave us an activity to answer. It is a tabular form of the lesson we had. Policies, Security, and Netiquette

The third day of our lesson on Media and Information Literacy had no homework nor an activity. Mr. Rodel Opiana intensively discussed the Edmodo Policies and Proper Online Behavior. I had no trouble understanding the Edmodo Policies since I reviewed them before. Back when I was in eighth grade, our student-teacher told us to sign-up for an Edmodo account and there I learned how to use the site and its policies as well. Source: Edmodo My patience on reading the “Terms and Agreement” does not exist, but Mr. Opiana emphasized the significance of reading them. My knowledge of the do’s and don’ts in the online world was expanded. I learned that I must secure my passwords because if they get hacked, it will affect my social life greatly. Every click I make may...
